In the year 2069, the Orbital Racer Betting Syndicate (O.R.B.S.) is the golden standard of worldwide betting corporations. We specialize in hyper-intelligent, virtual racing. Racers compete in intense downhill races for spectators worldwide to view. Since 2019, alongside international tech-giant GyroTech, O.R.B.S. has stood to make competitive artificially intelligent racing the premiere entertainment in today's world.
As a world-class betting syndicate, our mission is to provide you, the spectator, the best competitive AI racing experience possible. Watch the weekly matches live in the GyroDome - the 64,000-seat arena - where the virtual races take place!
Developed as a new standard weapon for military troops, this energy projectile weapon delivers a hot projectile that doesn’t require ammunition. O.R.B.S. units can utilize the entropy cannon as a short range, high damage munition.
This modifier fires seeker drones, carrying a powerful electrical payload that lock onto a target and attempt to disable it. First used in military applications as experimental weapons against helicopters and hostile machinery, the Helix missile is an invaluable tool to O.R.B.S. pilots and AI for aggressive, targeted maneuvers.
An intense liquid nitrogen blast that chills the electromagnetic bearings inside the O.R.B.S. unit and kicks it into a state of Superconductivity (Hence, Super-C). The superconductive metals make it possible to deliver an intense burst of speed and power to the internal systems. At higher tiers, the charge becomes so intense that it can damage racers by contact.
Designed by the Ironside Police Force as a tool to stop criminals in high speed chases, the Drezz Stones are a small set of capsules that, after a short timeout, will produce an electromagnetic field designed to disable electronic equipment. O.R.B.S. pilots can use them to severely disorient their opponents.
Nanites were developed after the innovative GEMI (Global Electromagnetic Induction) program, a program that opened up new avenues to nanotechnology. The tiny robots were adapted for military use, the nanites proved useful as a shield to projectile threats as well as repairing short term injuries.
With increasing innovation and intelligence of cyborg and robot technologies, the state government issued an act to create a failsafe device that would eliminate all robotic threats. Thus the EMP was born. The O.R.B.S. organization then repurposed the EMP blast protocol for use in races a few years after its government patent expired.
The Leech Drone is a small drone unit that can latch onto electrical entities and use their energy to charge an energetic self destruct. O.R.B.S. units can attach the leech drone to opponents and watch as it charges and eventually explodes dealing massive damage.
During sprint races, O.R.B.S. pilots will have the ability to pick up a time bonus to improve their overall trial time by discarding one second each time this powerup is used.
Photo Finish delivers a last ditch effort for a better pole position by giving racers a burst of speed before the finish line.
Hot Start offers racers a random tier 1 powerup at the start of the race, giving you an advantage from the get-go.
Diamond Coat is an rig enhancement that gives it boosted defensive attributes.
MAN-O-WAR is a rig enhancement that gives it boosted offensive attributes.
Evolution is a next-generation rig enhancement that offers rigs a chance to boost all three of racing attributes (speed, acceleration and handling).
Equipping a rig with a Speed enhancement will increase top speed.
Equipping a rig with a Acceleration enhancement will increase its acceleration.
Equipping a rig with a Handling enhancement will increase its handling.

Play the Lottery and give your rig the chance to pick up any powerup at tier 2 instead of tier 1.
Inspired by the O.R.B.S. President’s love of the old and rural United States, Backroad Blitz is unique due to its road width. The first half of the track starts out narrow, keeping opposing players close together. The second half doubles the width of the track, eventually leading into the second track Downtown Domination.
Downtown Domination is a recreation of the O.R.B.S. president’s hometown at the turn of the millenium. The track emphasizes speed and powerups with multiple straight-aways for you to abuse opposing players.
Night Fright is inspired by the Tokyo mountain racing scene during the early 2000s. Visibility is low and players will have to be careful as they maneuver the sharp hairpin turns. It is one of the longest tracks in the O.R.B.S. racing circuit.
A continuation of Night Fright, Cliffside Chaos is a combination of the sharp, hairpin turns of the previous track and the fast straight-aways of Downtown Domination. It’s locale is inspired by the seaside cliffs of the early 1990s, when the president of O.R.B.S. was just a little boy.
Digital Palace is a digital remake of the track found on the premises of Daniel D. Rhimer, former O.R.B.S. President. The digitized rendition of this track has been updated to meet the needs of modern day racers by adding more powerups, futuristic lighting. This track stands as a representation of our mechanistic world today in 2069.
Vindiciae is the prototype of the championship track created for the Orbital Grand Prix 2070. Featuring multiple alternate paths, racers will have to strategize their choice of rig and powerups to ensure victory. As it is an indoor track, there will be limited scenery and thusly minimal distraction for the racers. All racers will need to pay close attention to every detail on this specially designed track if they wish to have a chance of winning the title!
Track Designer, Project Manager, Site Manager
Mr. Nguyen was brought on to design a large amount of the virtual arenas. His superior aptitude regarding track layouts and set design is unparalleled. In addition, Mr. Nguyen was also in charge of the entire O.R.B.S. project, ensuring smooth communication through all of its development pipelines.
Mr. Dubord is responsible for all of the interfaces that the racers interact with, before and after each race, including the hub world in which the racers gather prior to each race. His knowledge of dynamic and efficient navigation through menu systems is second to none. Being able to pass that level of information through the virtual initialization and networking pipelines is no easy task.
Rig Designer, Track Designer, Concept Artist
With an exemplary background in visual design, Mr. Mukama is responsible for the overall style of the O.R.B.S. corporation. In order to properly portray the worlds represented in each track, Mr. Mukama’s design expertise was vital in achieving the most convincing environments. As design lead, working closely with robotics manufacturer GyroTech, Mr. Mukama was also responsible for the design of the Rigs. Careful consideration was taken into account when balancing each Rig’s racing attributes and capabilities with their physical appearance.
Gameplay Designer/Developer, Track Designer
As one of the lead developers of the O.R.B.S. organization, Mr. Shorey developed most of the racer functionality. Without his expertise, the racer weapons and enhancements would not be nearly as impactful as they are today. His vision, as well as implementation, of the efficacy and dynamism of the powerups used in each track is truly breathtaking, and is one of the main reasons O.R.B.S. has flourished as a unique organization.
AI/Networking Integrator, Backend Developer
Without Mr. Yang's contribution, the overall competitive nature of the O.R.B.S. races would pale in comparison. Specializing in artificial intelligence systems, Mr. Yang was able to contrive the most efficient racer intelligence, in order to give the viewers a real spectacle to behold. With each robot racer making different decisions and using different strategies during the races, aggressive and intense races will always take place thanks to Mr. Yang. His understanding of networking and remote access as well as distribution is what allows O.R.B.S. to be the internationally known corporation it is today.
